Driveline

The driveline comprises of the Gear Box and the Automatic Transmission. The additives to formulate these oils are different from the engine oil additives as these fluids serve many purposes. The driveline lubricants are the most complex multifunctional fluids.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUIDS (ATF)

Automatic Transmission Automatic Transmission Fluids serve many purposes, such as wear protection, heat dissipation, lubrication and shift quality.

Additional to the above, automatic transmission fluids must be compatible with all transmission components, operating at both low and high temperature extremes, and maintain constant performance for extended periods.

While performance is defined by the specifications of automotive OEM’s a significant percentage of the fluids produced is used in applications other than automatic transmissions, including power shift transmissions in construction, agricultural, power steering units and rotary screw compressors.

BRB has the PETROLAD® 7/ SERIES meeting General Motors (DEXRON), Daimler Chrysler, ZF, Caterpillar and many more OEM approvals. Contact BRB for the right additive to produce your finished ATF.

AUTOMOTIVE GEAR LUBRICANTS

Gear BoxThe gear oils in automotive application must meet a number of requirements. Most applications require gear oils that contain extreme pressure additives or anti wear additives to prevent wear, pitting, scoring, scuffing or other types of distress, which can result in failure.
Automotive gear lubricant viscosities are defined in SAE J306 and the latest specifications beside the API´s GL standards of OEM’s are Daimler Chrysler, ZF, VOLVO, MAN, Eaton, IVECO.
